Categories of Membership

Active members are defined as retired or active duty enlisted and civilian Judge Advocate General's Corps paraprofessionals from all branches of military services, to include the reserve component of each, employed or retained as paralegals or paraprofessionals as currently defined and adopted by the American Bar Association.

  • Active members may also select (for a small additional fee) to become Active Members of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA).  To obtain more information on NFPA and the benefits of being an Active member with NFPA membership, check out the NFPA page.

Associate members are defined as spouses, widows, or widowers of other members, members of the Federal Civilian employees of other branches having close affiliation with the Judge Advocate General's Corps within respective branches; service members of other nations with a close affinity to the Corps or the Association; and such persons as may be approved by the Executive Committee.
